Jumper Love

I used to say that I was born in the wrong decade, I wanted to be from the 30's or 40's. Wearing dresses and skirts, the little housewife persona, black and white glamour, it all sounds so good. The more I think about it though, the beautiful thing about the age we live in is that we can wear styles from pretty much the last hundred years and no one has a problem with it. That's why I love the huge vintage trend in the last few years. It gives more freedom (from ridicule, I suppose) in the way we can dress.

This plaid jumper is one the finds from last week, I wore it to school with jeans and the low-profile white Vans. Jumpers are so fun to wear and they remind me of being ten years old and stealing my mom's corduroy ones. That day at school I checked out a few books from the library on fashion through the decades. I suppose it inspired me to dig out my tights and old Doc Martens for some self portraits; which I haven't really enjoyed taking this past year. It's good practice for me though, and the full bodied shots force me to embrace my body.

And lastly, the good ole "Myspace" pose:

Happy Monday,
Rachael
